Gentle Sheep Shearing

Join us for an afternoon of warmth and learning at our gentle sheep shearing event! We demonstrate the art and necessity of sheep shearing, an important aspect of sheep health and hygiene. Suitable for guests of all ages, this event offers a unique opportunity to understand the full cycle of wool production - from shearing to spinning to products. Our commitment to farm animal welfare shines through this gentle and respectful process, ensuring our sheep are comfortable and stress-free throughout.


Celebrate Dairy Day

Date: June 6

Help us celebrate National Dairy Day in the Coach Barn with dairy-themed activities for all ages, including Dairy Trivia, Farm Animal Trivia, an Animal Meet & Greet, and a few dairy surprises as we celebrate the cows, the farmers, and the important role dairy farms play in our community.


Historic Camp at Spring Brook Farm

Date: August 7 - August 8
Time: 10:00AM - 5:00PM
Cost: Free. Donations deeply appreciated
Location: Spring Brook Farm (located on Hillside Road, one mile from Hillside's Dairy Store)

Join period actors and experts to experience life during the Revolutionary War period. Learn how citizens dressed, prepared meals, hunted, protected their families and themselves. See live fire of Revolutionary-style Muzzleloaders. Be sure to ask what type of jobs did individuals hold? Did women work outside the home? What about school for children? This is a weekend filled with historic facts and folklore!


24th Connecticut Militia Regiment & Camp

Date: October 3 & October 4
Time: Noon - 5:00PM
Cost: Donations deeply appreciated
Location: Victorian Garden (located behind the Greenhouse)

The 24th Connecticut Militia Regiment is a living history organization that demonstrates fascinating ways of life during the Revolutionary War period of American history. Witness accurate portrayals of soldiers and common people of the Wyoming Valley. Learn about carpentry, medicine, cooking, tailoring, and much more.


Hillside's 20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

Date: October 10
Time: 5:30PM - 8:30PM
Cost: Tickets are $150 per person
Location: Museum Barn

Our 20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner promises to be a night to remember! The food, location, entertainment, and overall vibe will be over-the-top fabulous. Celebrating 20 years as a non-profit educational dairy farm is a big deal - having YOU there will make it even better. This two-decades-in-the-making gathering will honor the life and legacy of Hillside's Founder and Visionary, Dr. Doug Ayers.


Christmas in the Barns

Date: December 4, 5, & 6
Time: December 4 6:00PM - 8:00PM December 5 & 6 4:00PM - 6:00PM
Cost: Free. Donations deeply appreciated. TICKETS ARE REQUIRED
Location: Coach Barn

Santa, cookies, crafts and more!
Tickets will be available at the Pavilion on Saturday, November 21, beginning at 9AM.
There are 300 tickets allocated for each event. Tickets are limited to SIX per family.


Throughout the year we may get creative and schedule a pop-up event or two! You can be sure we will do a shout-out on social media and at the Dairy Store.
