2007 is a special year for The Lands at Hillside Farms; it marks the return of cows grazing in on our hills and pastures for the first time in years! The return of a dairy herd to Hillside Farm is of primary importance to The Lands because it fulfills our vision of returning this splendid property to a working farm. Who doesn't remember a time when the cows at Hillside were just as much of a draw as the farm-produced milk and ice cream? With the return of such a sight at hand, there is an amazing opportunity for the community to support the return of cows to Northeastern Pennsylvania's most recognizable farm! As a non-profit farming and educational organization, The Lands at Hillside Farms needs your help reintroducing cows to the farm (cows cost about $1500 to purchase and their care/feed on an annual basis averages $750 each).

By participating in The Lands at Hillside Farms' Sponsor-A-Cow Program, you (or your business or organization) can help found and care for the cows that will form the basis of a permanent herd at The Lands! With various levels of participation and recognition, participation is possible for nearly everyone, with the following participation levels identified:

1. $2250 sponsors the purchase of a dairy cow and provide for its care/feed for 1 year. Included with this opportunity are permanent recognition on-farm as part of our Founder's Society) and the opportunity to name your cow.
2. $1500 provides for the average purchase price for 1 cow. Included with this opportunity are permanent recognition on-farm (as part of our Founder's Society) and the opportunity to name your cow.
3. $750 provides for the care and feed of a cow for 1 year; includes membership in our Haymaker's Society.
4. $500 feeds a cow for 1 year; includes membership in our Haymaker's Society.
5. $250 covers the cost of care for a cow for 1 year; includes membership in our Haymaker's Society.
6. $100 feeds two cows for a month; includes membership in our Haymaker's Society.
7. $50 feeds one cow for a month; includes membership in our Haymaker's Society.

All participants, regardless of the level of giving, will be recognized for their generosity through membership in The Lands at Hillside Farms' Haymaker's Society (membership is renewable on an annual basis). In addition, sponsors participating at the $1500 level and above will be permanently recognized through membership in our Founder's Society as a contributing member the re-establishment of the dairy herd. As a member of the Founder's Society, you will have the opportunity to name your cow! Members of both of these sponsor groups will receive updates about the herd throughout the year, as well as receive invitations to special events and interactive activities on the farm!
